FPSC Application Photo: Under 30 KB in One Tap

Updated · PixKB

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) of Pakistan asks for one upload in its online application: a recent passport-style photo in JPG (JPEG) format, under 30 KB. The preset below makes that file from any photo, on your own device; nothing is uploaded.

or drop it anywhere in this box

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, BMP, SVG, AVIF · everything runs on your device, nothing is uploaded

Custom target, 2–10240 KB

Match the portal's rule

Everything runs in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas — your photo is never uploaded to any server.

About 2.0 MB, saved once on this device. Then it works with no internet.

The photo is uploaded in Step 2 of FPSC's two-step process, after the fee is paid. The "two photographs" mentioned in FPSC's General Instructions are printed copies for document verification before the interview, not uploads.

How to make your FPSC photo

  1. Take or choose a front-facing photo against a plain, light wall (head and shoulders, no sunglasses).
  2. Tap Choose image above. The FPSC application photo preset is already selected.
  3. Tap Apply preset. The result line should say Meets the form's file rules.
  4. Tap Download result and upload that file in Step 2 of your FPSC application.

What the preset gives: tested

Because FPSC sets no pixel size, the preset keeps your photo's proportions and makes it just small enough to stay under 30 KB at good quality:

Test photoFPSC resultPixel size kept
Portrait against a plain wall (26 MP, 2.7 MB)29,894 bytes517×775
Indoor selfie (24 MP, 2.1 MB)29,909 bytes438×658

Desktop Chromium, October 2026; each took under 4 seconds. The result stays under 30,000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.

The plain-wall portrait kept more pixels than the selfie because a plain background costs fewer bytes, leaving more for your face. Crop out empty space before you start and the same 30 KB goes further.

If the upload still fails

For other Pakistani forms, see PPSC (Punjab), which asks for less than 25 KB at upload, and the Pakistan passport photo (350×467 pixels, under 20 KB). All exam and job forms we cover are on job and exam form photos.

Frequently asked questions

What is the FPSC photo size limit?

Under 30 KB, in JPG or JPEG format. FPSC's guidelines state no pixel or centimetre size.

What pixel size should my FPSC photo be?

FPSC doesn't set one. Our preset keeps your photo's shape; in our tests it gave 517×775 and 438×658 pixels, both under 30 KB.

Does FPSC require a signature upload?

No. The online form asks only for a photo. Printed photographs are needed later, for document verification.

Is 30 KB 30,000 or 30,720 bytes?

It depends on how the portal counts. The preset stays under 30,000 bytes, which passes either way.

Can I use a selfie?

If it's front-facing, against a plain background and looks like a formal photo, yes. A photo taken by someone else from about a metre away usually looks better.

Can I upload a PNG?

No. FPSC accepts JPG or JPEG. The preset converts any photo, including PNG and iPhone HEIC, into a real JPEG.

Which FPSC document is this based on?

FPSC's Guidelines for Online Application Submission (updated 09-09-2025), read directly and last checked on 27 October 2026; the link is under Official sources. If FPSC changes the rule, tell us and we'll update this page.

Is my photo uploaded to PixKB?

No. It's processed in your browser and saved to your device.
